2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia
Just stopped by Golling Alfa in Birmingham.  The Giulia is without a doubt the nicest looking car of any manufacturer, bar none. That is not exactly an unbiased opinion. I have owned and driven many Alfas since my first in 1973. The first Alfa I recall seeing was the Montreal on display at the Italian pavilion at the 1967 Worlds Fair in, you guessed it, Montreal, QC, Canada. (Speaking of Montreal, be sure to go online and register for the Convention in July, being hosted in Montreal by the AROC of Canada and our own AROC National Owners Club). [link here]
Back to the Giulia: from the nicely styled 'heart' at the front, past the Quadrofoglio emblem on the side, to the quad exhausts flanking model-specific rear diffuser, there can be no mistake this is an Alfa. Hood and front fender vents suggest this is not a poseur, and even with four doors, this is a true 'sports car'.  Under the hood, the V-6 engine is somewhat hidden by attractive panels, but make no mistake this is a twin turbocharged, 505 hp screamer.  An all wheel drive screamer. The fastest production sedan in the world on the Nurburgring.  If eighty five large is not in your pocket, then there are other Giulia models to fit most budgets. I would act fast, I'm told by the nice gentleman at the dealership, they have sold one in just the first week it was available in SE MI. Well, that's a bit of an exaggeration on my part as they had six TI models, with 280hp on tap, on the lot in both 2wd and all wheel drive (all aimed at the MI winters with heated everything package), and a full array of models on the way.  FCA is confident these cars will sell well, and will be backed by a 4yr, 50K mile warranty. Unlike the Giulietta before them, since 1955, these cars are expected to be durable, and trouble-free cars; sleek, powerful, desirable...and comfortable for the long haul.
You be the judge. In the meanwhile, check out the few photos here, better yet hitchhike on down to the dealer for a test drive, and even with slightly more than half  the Quad's horsepower, you won't be disappointed (unless the 44k large is also unavailable). Ciao, for now.
